Concrete Laborer

Job Responsibilities

• Measuring distances from grade stakes, drive stakes, and stretch lines tight.
• Loading and unloading material from trucks.
• Mixing concrete, as necessary, with hand tools or by using portable mixer.
• Mix, pour, spread, and level concrete for slabs, sidewalks, curbs, walls, and other structures.
• Operating equipment such as power screeds, trowels, and saws.
• May be required to operate hand and power tools as well as operator company equipment and vehicles.

Physical Requirements

• Position spends 100% of the time on an active construction site.
• Will need to move frequently throughout a construction jobsite with uneven terrain and in inclement weather.
• Frequent need to lift or move heavy materials up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to maneuver and operate equipment occurs occasionally.
• Working at heights will vary between 5' to 100' + above the ground, as well as working with various pieces of equipment that will provide protection at such heights: ladders, scaffolds, aerial man lifts, and personal fall protection.
• Climbing up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects in multi-story buildings while carrying tools and equipment may occur occasionally.
• Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and crawl for long periods of time.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent, technical school or college experience.
• Ability to use and read a tape measure with precise standards and accuracy.
• Basic understanding of prints, sketches, and blueprints.
• Excellent communication, organization and people skills, with proven success working in team environments.
• Must be able to work with limited supervision.
