Concrete Laboratory Supervisor
About the role
Lyten is seeking a Concrete Laboratory Supervisor (CLS) to lead our lab operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who supervises laboratory staff, ensures safety and compliance, and acts as a technical expert.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor laboratory staff, setting standards for behavior and technical excellence.
- Provide oversight of day-to-day operations, maintaining a culture of safety and compliance.
- Act as a subject matter expert in construction materials testing, including project planning, R&D, sample preparation, and rigorous analysis.
- Organize and analyze complex datasets, creating meaningful reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct materials sourcing, manage testing budgets, and serve as a liaison with certification organizations and external testing companies.
- Stay informed about industry trends and competitor activity to ensure Lyten remains at the forefront of the market.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (e.g., electrical, manufacturing), or general science (e.g., chemistry) or a related field AND 5+ years of related experience OR master’s degree in engineering (e.g., electrical, manufacturing), or general science (e.g., chemistry) or a related field AND 3+ years of related experience.
- Required certifications: ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician – Grade I. Required within 6 months: ACI Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician – Levels 1 & 2 and ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician.
- Proven ability to batch and test concrete; hands-on skills in lab tasks.
- A proactive problem-solver with innovative solutions to overcome technical obstacles.
- Strong communication skills, acting as a technical resource for the entire company.
- Proficient in standard office software and data analysis tools.
Qualifications
- Physical requirements: Must be able to lift 50 lbs, stand for 8 hours per day in a lab setting.
Benefits
The expected base salary range for this position is between $96,400.00 - $144,600.00. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise.
