The Concierge is responsible for creating a welcoming first impression and providing current information about the local area, attractions, and events at the AAA Four Diamond JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District, located in the heart of historic Savannah on the riverfront.
Location
The JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District is situated in downtown Savannah, with countless activities a short walk away. Explore the shopping district, dine at the hotel’s restaurants, enjoy riverside bars, or embark on walking tours. The property, once a power plant, features three unique buildings enriched in history: the Power Plant, Three Muses, and the Atlantic.
Responsibilities
- Provide information and assist guests with inquiries about restaurants, theater/musical productions, airlines, car rentals, transportation, office services, beauty/barber establishments, and other services; render reservations as needed.
- Maintain current listings of local and area attractions, special events, and activities.
- Maintain directories of local transportation, churches, sports arenas, and other points of interest.
- Provide hours of operation for all hotel restaurants, lounges, and shops.
- Supply maps, directions, and other information as requested by guests.
- Maintain the lobby reader board and restock property brochure racks.
- Knowledge of all emergency procedures and ability to assist or respond accordingly.
- Provide personalized welcome calls to VIP and designated guests.
- Communicate daily hotel functions and their locations to assist guest navigation.
- Assist the front desk as needed and retrieve guest packages.
- Offer gift certificates for purchase and maintain in-room TV channel listings.
- Show guestrooms and suites upon request.
- Oversee cleanliness of the lobby and entrance areas.
Qualifications
- Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritize multiple requests.
- Computer experience required.
- Maintain a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor at all times.
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with employees and guests in an attentive, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
- Strong listening skills to understand and clarify guest or employee concerns.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming (including proper uniform and nametag).
- Comply with hotel standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Proactively identify and solve problems, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
- Ability to understand and apply complex information from various sources.
- Maintain confidentiality of information and demonstrate initiative in daily tasks.
- Regular attendance in compliance with scheduling needs.
