About the Venue
The Thomas M. Ryan Center is a state-of-the-art, multi-purpose facility located on the University of Rhode Island campus in scenic South County. It opened its doors in June 2002 and is home to URI Men’s and Women’s Basketball programs. The venue also houses the URI football teams' locker room, along with athletic department offices, training rooms, players' lounges, and a souvenir store. Seating capacity varies depending on the event type, ranging from 8,000 for basketball to over 6,300 for concerts, family shows, lectures, and other community events. The Ryan Center adheres to all ADA specifications to accommodate guests with disabilities and attracts an audience of over 1.4 million people within a 40-mile radius.
Responsibilities
- Ensure proper stocking and cleaning of concession locations before, after, and during events.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the concession warehouse area.
- Trash and cardboard removal throughout the event, including at close.
- Aid in closing down concession locations after event completion.
- Ensure work areas and equipment are clean, food products are properly stored, utensils are clean and put away, and the floor is swept and mopped at the end of the shift.
- Collaborate with direct supervisor and/or management to maintain cleanliness standards.
- Assist with service during high-volume times at concession stands and bars.

- Show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests.
- Work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Capable of working a flexible schedule and extended hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Comply with staff attendance policies.
- Proven ability to work well with all levels of management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
