About the role
Brightstar is seeking a Computer Operator in Tallahassee, FL. This is an entry-level, on-site position responsible for general technical support of data systems for lottery sale systems. The role requires flexibility to work a 12-hour shift (3 or 4 days per week) as part of a 24/7 operation, including day or night shifts. Competitive wages and shift differential for off-shift hours are offered.
Responsibilities
- Provide entry to intermediate-level monitoring and troubleshooting for operating equipment across one or more jurisdictions, ensuring 24x365 adherence to operational procedures, checklists, policies, and national IT best practices.
- Perform intermediate-level troubleshooting of systems and servers related to host systems, middleware, applications, and existing tools with minimal supervision.
- Monitor logical security using established tools and procedures.
- Troubleshoot network technologies related to IP network devices and backbone transports according to established procedures.
- Execute, validate, and recover defined processes in operational checklists, including draw processing, day-end processing, system balancing, file system maintenance, change requests, report/file transfers, messaging, jackpot details, and system configurations.
- Coordinate, execute, validate, track, follow up on, and escalate internal and external customer requests according to established guidelines.
- Submit recommendations to create and maintain operational procedures and checklists.
- Adhere to service level agreements (SLAs) and IT best practices for performance and audit requirements.
- Support local testing policies and procedures.
- Provide training to other operators, encouraging feedback, innovation, and motivation.
- Assist in coaching and mentoring junior-level operators.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- IT, technical, or related college degree or certifications (preferred).
- 1-2 years of experience in Service Desk, Help Desk, Call Center, or Customer Service positions.
- Basic experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).
- Technical knowledge and skills to monitor and troubleshoot multiple technologies.
Pay
The estimated starting compensation range for this role is competitive and varies based on background, skills, experience, and work location. The Company complies with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable. Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards program, which includes irregular discretionary bonuses for non-exempt roles.
