Computer Operator I
The Pennsylvania Treasury Department is an independent agency led by the elected State Treasurer and one of the largest state treasuries in the country, serving as custodian of more than $150 billion. About the role
This position performs technical duties operating computers and high-volume printers for print production and payment processing. Work focuses on operating essential equipment and accurately processing all details to ensure consistent, high-quality results.
Responsibilities
- Print Preparation: Work with software to prepare files for printing
- Printer Use: Operate and monitor check printing machines
- Payment Processing: Process payment files through workflow systems, verify control numbers and dollar amounts, and resolve discrepancies
- Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous records of payment processing and printing activities
- Teamwork Support: Help prioritize tasks, ensure their timely and accurate completion, and keep operations running smoothly
Requirements
- Two hundred hours of formal basic data processing training; and graduation from high school or certification of equivalent training; or an equivalent combination of experience and training
- Experience navigating Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office products
- Ability to perform essential job functions
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Experience operating high-volume printers or similar equipment
- Experience with OnBase
- Ability to adapt to changing requirements and learn new technologies
- Experience prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Schedule
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch
- Telework is not available for this position
