Mission Critical is an international practice for Burns & McDonnell involving exciting, collaborative work across many departments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation and development of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) design models.
  • Lead the CFD project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting CFD models according to budget constraints, design factors or client needs for the Mission Critical Industry.
  • Complete each CFD analysis and report within budget and for all interfacing with the engineering teams.
  • Lead CFD analysis of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers.
  • Apply knowledge of commonly used CFD concepts, practices, and procedures within the CFD services industry.
  • Apply knowledge and experience to complex projects, find non-standard design solutions.
  • Prepare and present technical reports for clients.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction goals and expectations are met.
  • Ensure QA/QC process adherence.
  • Communicate effectively with other engineering disciplines.
  • Review Engineering team design information pertaining to CFD analysis detail modelling requirements.
  • Advise on modelling information exchange and need by dates.
  • Perform wind speed and weather probability analysis.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program and 3 years of mechanical engineering experience (consulting preferred).
  • Or bachelor's degree in mechanical or related engineering technology from an ABET accredited program, successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and 3 years of mechanical engineering experience (consulting preferred).
  • Or master's degree in mechanical engineering and 2 years of mechanical engineering experience (consulting preferred).
  • Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Strong computer skills include AutoCAD, BIM (Revit), 3D Rendering Programs, hydraulic analysis, and HVAC analysis programs.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Engineers in Training-EIT Certification preferred.

Pay

$110,000.00–240,000.00 Yearly. The expected compensation range is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
