Comprehensive Community Support Associate
Responsibilities
- Provide trauma informed, person centered support to designated clients in alignment with their treatment plans.
- Aid clients in achieving individualized treatment goals that promote independent living and community integration.
- Teach and model daily living skills, coping strategies, emotional regulation, and interpersonal skills.
- Encourage participation in self-help, independent living, and recovery-oriented activities.
- Support the development of positive and respectful relationships among individuals served and their housemates.
- Ensure client safety and help maintain a secure, supportive, and therapeutic environment.
- Assist with scheduling client appointments and coordinating services as part of wrap around care.
- Collaborate closely with clients’ licensed therapists, supervisors, and other members of the treatment team.
- Participate in bi-weekly supervision with designated direct supervisor.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, team members, and external stakeholders.
- Report any concerns, incidents, or client-related issues promptly to the State Treatment Director or appropriate leadership.
- Complete all documentation accurately and within required regulatory and agency guidelines.
- Submit and monitor prior authorizations to ensure approval and continuation of service units.
- Follow all agency policies, procedures, and ethical standards at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- A high school diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), or comparable educational documentation.
- One year of experience working with individuals with mental health disorders or co-occurring disorders.
- Hold or obtain the Community Support Associate certification within six months of hire.
- Maintain ongoing continuing education requirements.
- Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels.
- Strong attention to detail and time management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with remote teams across multiple locations.
- Substantial business acumen in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to develop clear, actionable steps in support of an overall business strategy.

StepStone Family Therapy Services provides trauma-informed, evidence-based therapeutic services to children and adults across Kentucky. The Community Support Associate (CSA) plays a crucial role in supporting individuals with mental health or co-occurring diagnoses by helping them build the skills necessary for independent and successful living within their communities. This position is suitable for someone who is dependable, solution-focused, and brings a positive, team-oriented approach to their work. The CSA works closely with licensed therapists and other care providers to deliver trauma-informed support and assist clients in developing coping, interpersonal, and daily living skills in real-world settings. The role emphasizes empowering individuals, promoting stability, and supporting long-term success through a strengths-based, collaborative approach.
