About the role
The Compounding Lab Manager will oversee daily operations in the compounding labs, support scale-up efforts, and ensure quality and patient safety.
Responsibilities
- Direct personnel, including managing PTO requests, performance management, time management, annual reviews, etc.
- Support training of new compounding technicians on equipment and processes.
- Be an expert in all equipment in the compounding suites.
- Work with suppliers to optimize equipment output.
- Partner with Quality Operations and PIC to ensure quality of compounds and safety.
- Organize, track, and maintain documentation related to the compounding suites.
- Understand and apply regulatory requirements to maintain compliance.
- Support the development of compounding initiatives.
- Staff non-sterile laboratories as needed.
- Ensure timely completion of SOPs with regulatory oversight.
- Understand and apply Pharmacy Standards of Practice (USP 795/USP 800).
Requirements
- Familiarity with USP chapters 795 and 800.
- Experience working in a compounding pharmacy.
- Familiarity with Computer Rx pharmacy software.
- Familiarity with pharmacy and compounding SOPs.
- Possess the ability to teach and train the pharmacy staff.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Required.
