About the role
The Compounding Lab Manager will oversee daily operations in the compounding labs, support scale-up efforts, and ensure quality and patient safety.
Responsibilities
- Direct personnel, including managing PTO requests, performance management, time management, and annual reviews.
- Train new compounding technicians on equipment and processes.
- Be a subject matter expert on all equipment in the compounding suites.
- Work with suppliers to optimize equipment output and support from the Technical Services team.
- Partner with Quality Operations and PIC to ensure quality of compounds and safety of employees.
- Organize, track, and maintain support documentation for the compounding suites.
- Support the development of compounding initiatives.
- Staff non-sterile laboratories as needed.
- Ensure timely completion of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively with staff and management.
- Manage inventory and lead projects.
- Support software training and other knowledge/competency assessments.
Requirements
- Familiarity with USP chapters 795 and 800.
- Experience working in a compounding pharmacy.
- Familiarity with Computer Rx pharmacy software.
- Possess the ability to teach and train the pharmacy staff.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Required.
