About the role
The Clark location is part of our Taste Division, producing flavors and ingredients. Our Clark facility consists of two buildings. The North building has a fruitier smell, where teams produce natural flavoring and essential oils. The South building has a savory and garlic scent, where teams manufacture seasonings for meat, chicken broth, and beef gravy.
Key responsibilities
- Compound batches which meet quality and consistency standards in a cost-effective, safe, and timely manner.
- Packaging and labeling all batches for shipment or storage.
- Accurately compound formulas by weight and ingredient, utilizing the best methodology based on the product or mixture.
- Apply working knowledge of all raw materials before use, ensuring quality and consistency in batches.
- Utilize inventory lot rotation (FIFO) for all materials used.
- Use working knowledge of all pumps, mixers, scales, high-density storage units, meters, and computers.
- Fill out daily scale logs on all scales used prior to the start of the shift, reporting any discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Follow all manufacturing instructions on formula batch sheets using proper compounding techniques to ensure product quality.
- Properly label all batches submitted to the lab for evaluation.
- Filling all batch containers at the correct weights and in appropriate containers, and marking all containers with necessary LPN labels.
- Be able to follow equipment sanitization SOPs.
- Maintain inventory information on filling materials and report any shortages to the supervisor.
- Follow all 5S and Good Manufacturing procedures to maintain good housekeeping and ensure compliance with safety and environmental laws and regulations.
- Handle allergen products and equipment according to Allergen Control Procedures.
- Conform to Food Safety and Food Quality Plans as described in the Kerry Clark SQF Systems manual.
- Report any and all deviations to a member of management and set product aside until further instructed.
Qualifications and skills
- High School diploma or equivalent experience.
- Experience within the Flavor or a closely related industry.
- Proficient in compounding techniques and raw materials.
- Proficient in the use of scales and other compounding and filling equipment.
- Able to work overtime as needed and be flexible with working hours.
Physical requirements
- Able to lift up to 80 pounds and move up to 400 pounds.
- Able to see and distinguish between labels.
- Able to stand for extended periods and walk through the warehouse.
- Certified to wear a respirator and follow all rules regarding respirator wear.
Compensation
