Composite Blade Technician

About the role
At WECTEC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Westinghouse Electric Company LLC, we recognize that our employees are our most valuable asset. The Composite Blade Technician will be responsible for internal and external inspections, defect analysis, and up to Category 3-5 repair of fiberglass and composite blades, spinners, and nacelles from all brands and categories. You will report to the blade manager and may be required to travel to various sites throughout the United States.
Technicians will document findings, assemble associated paperwork, and provide occasional maintenance support. You may also take on additional responsibilities to proactively promote our vision and align with our organization's mission and values.
100% travel is required to multiple projects throughout the United States.
Responsibilities
- Perform internal and external inspections of fiberglass and composite blades, spinners, and nacelles
- Conduct defect analysis and execute repairs up to Category 3-5
- Document findings and assemble associated paperwork
- Provide occasional maintenance support
- Travel 100% to multiple projects throughout the United States
- Take on additional responsibilities to support the organization’s mission and values
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience OR minimum 1 year of field experience AND graduation from a Wind Tech or accredited Program
- Completed training in:
- Tower Safety Training (e.g., High-angle rescue or wind tower rescue)
- LOTO Training
- Suspended Platform Rigging/De-Rigging
- Pass a background check and drug screening
- Valid Driver’s License (required to operate company vehicle)
- Ability to stand, sit, push, pull, kneel, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
Certifications: GWO BST, ART certificate

Pay
Estimated base salary range for this position is $23/hour to $50/hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and skills.
