Core Responsibilities
- Evaluate, inspect, diagnose and document internal and external composite blade damage, then photograph and assemble documentation as required.
- Perform coating and structural repairs of internal and external composite blade structures, such as wind turbine blades and nacelles.
- Modify and repair fiberglass, carbon fiber, resin and other composite materials as needed.
- Work with site leadership to execute all contractual obligations and activities set forth with the customers daily, which can include composite repairs with respect to wind turbines.
- Complete and maintain required company and client documentation and records, using computer-based service reporting tools and procedures.
- Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) as required to maintain a safe working environment.
Core Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with composite materials in any industry.
- Familiar with internal and external adhesive bonding.
- Understanding of mixed ratios for all composite repair chemicals.
- Basic knowledge of repairing leading edge (LE) and trailing edge (TE) cracks.
- WDI/TWP/Work instruction.
- Work within confined space areas, such as inside a wind turbine blade.
- Read and understand electrical schematic drawings.
Physical/Work Environment
- Maintain a weight between 120 and 280 pounds, including clothing and boots, for OSHA safety compliance.
- Lift and move equipment as needed (more than 50 pounds).
- Work in an indoor or outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions with blowing pollen, dust, and grasses.
