Key Responsibilities
- Closely work with Renesas packaging groups and have a thorough understanding of advanced packaging processes.
- Collaborate with Renesas business units, supply chain, and external vendors to ensure modules are built on schedule and delivered on time.
- Work with the procurement team to place POs for external vendors and OSATs.
- Collaborate with purchasing, production, and design engineering on component cost-down efforts.
- Experience with Parts Standardization application and technology insertion within the design process.
- Identify critical paths and propose risk mitigation and contingency strategies for delays.
- Interface with external vendors to ensure module requirements are clearly communicated and met.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and hierarchy definitions.
- Manage systems to capture and track material plans, inventory, and status.
- Manage purchase requests for R&D materials.
- Plan and track the shipment of products in coordination with internal departments to meet customer requirements.
- Ensure all modules build documentation is complete, accurate, and up to date.
- Experience with Parts Standardization application, 2nd source, and technology insertion within the design process.
- Train product group personnel on optimized component utilization, design practices, and improved NPI with Bill of Material.
- Generate regular reports for management on costs, efficiency, and delays.
- Plan and implement component needs roadmap for present and future needs.
- Periodically visit suppliers to monitor quality systems, processes, and capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering (BSEE or MSEE).
- At least 10 years of experience in component engineering and assembly engineering with a focus on high power module development and production.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
