About the role
The Compliance Specialist supports Abode's emergency relief funding program in San Francisco County, providing comprehensive documentation and assisting with program adherence.
Responsibilities
- Serves as the primary liaison between external partner agencies and Abode Services for emergency relief funding requests.
- Reviews incoming funding applications and supporting documentation for program compliance.
- Works with community partners to request additional documentation and resolve discrepancies regarding funding disbursements.
- Collaborates with internal and external partners to ensure funding requests are processed by the required deadline.
- Coordinates with the Abode Services Finance Department to coordinate payments.
- Maintains daily updates on participant service transactions in county and program databases.
- Prepares monthly reconciliation reports for auditing purposes.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Compliance Department.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Minimum of two years of experience in comparable work.
- Occasional travel for training and meetings is required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in social work, public policy, or a related field.
- Professional experience and track record can substitute for a degree.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft systems and Salesforce preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including organizing data and creating pivot tables.
- Knowledge of San Francisco housing market and geography preferred.
- Excellent written, oral, and business communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and/or with remote teams via technology.
