About the role

This position will act as a trusted advisor to help grow and provide compliance support for Leave Management, Disability, ADA, Paid Family Medical Leave (PFML), and related service offerings. The individual in this role will provide guidance and ongoing support internally to the Health Solutions business to ensure Voya’s Leave Management offering remains current, compliant, and effectively supported for clients. This role will be a key contributor to the long-term direction of Voya’s Statutory Disability and Paid Family Leave offering.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct compliance support for Paid Family Leave (PFL)/Paid Family Medical Leave (PFML) private plans and Statutory Disability plans, including identification of requirements, drafting guidance for employer clients, assisting in plan document/template creation, supporting plan filings, maintaining state-required notices, and ensuring state reporting requirements are met.
  • Monitor and communicate changes in regulations, leave laws, and employer trends.
  • Inform product opportunities and collaborate with product and marketing teams to update external-facing collateral for Voya’s Leave Management customers.
  • Provide consultation on the implementation and application of state leave laws to internal teams and employer customers.
  • Represent Voya at industry events and conferences to network with consulting peers and prospects.
  • Support training efforts for the Voya distribution team on Statutory Disability and Paid Family Medical Leave laws.
  • Respond to customer and regulatory inquiries, including complaints.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Juris Doctorate with experience in Employment Law preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in leave management (in-house, consulting, insurance carrier, or leave administration vendor).
  • Extensive knowledge of leave-related laws/regulations: FMLA, State Leaves, ADA, PFML, paid sick leave, and pregnancy-related leave laws.
  • Understanding of the client’s full lifecycle, from implementation to ongoing subject matter expertise.
  • Experience with Short Term Disability plans is a plus.

Pay

The annual base salary range for this position is $109,000 - $148,655 USD. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (e.g., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on role and performance. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, licensure, and skill level.
