About the Role

Under the direction of the QA Manager, the Quality Compliance Manager is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the plant’s Quality systems to ensure compliance with Kraft Heinz policies, regulatory, federal, and state laws. This role assists in achieving facility Quality KPIs through corrective/preventive actions and continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Compliance Manager leads all internal and external auditing activities, acts as the Site QCMS/ISO coordinator, and ensures adherence to HACCP and net contents regulations. This position also provides Quality support during major commercialization projects and new Quality system implementations.

The role reports directly to the Quality Systems Manager and serves as a backup to the Quality Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all internal and external inspections/regulatory visits, including audit preparation, accompaniment during inspections, and follow-up on non-conformances.
  • Trains site personnel on proper inspection procedures and ensures the facility is inspection-ready at all times.
  • Plans, defines, and directs the Site auditing control program to ensure compliance with procedures, policies, and regulatory laws, including identifying facility Quality KPIs and driving corrective/preventive actions.
  • Trains and mentors site auditors to meet program goals.
  • Manages the onsite laboratory to ensure timely and accurate reporting of product wet chemistry, grading, micro, and environmental sampling for sanitation effectiveness.
  • Oversees and leads the implementation of the Food Safety Quality Program (QRMP) and HACCP programs, including participation in QRMP audits and development of procedures and corrective actions.
  • Accountable for Safety, Health, and Environmental systems to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Acts as the Site QCMS/ISO coordinator, monitoring and maintaining the plant QCMS program to comply with Kraft Heinz and ISO standards.
  • Provides Quality and Sanitation support for major project commercializations from a regulatory and procedural perspective.
  • Manages Quality systems associated with eQCMS and Plant Quality team sites to ensure easy access to corporate links.
  • Supports the updating of Quality refresher training (e.g., GMPs, allergens, hold/release, Special Situations) as needed.
  • Serves as a conduit between the plant and Corporate Manufacturing Quality, Sector Quality, and Regulatory teams to ensure Quality policies are understood and communicated.
  • Acts as the quality contact in the absence of the Quality Manager.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Food Manufacturing, or a related technical environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or an equivalent degree.
  • Ability to work shifts, weekends, and required overtime with prompt and regular attendance.
  • Physical requirements include walking, sitting, standing, climbing, working near moving equipment, occasional lifting up to 25 lbs, operating a computer, and communicating in-person and via telephone.
  • Strong leadership, technical, communication, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Advanced knowledge of quality systems, procedures, and policies is helpful.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments, develop work plans, and prioritize tasks.
  • Knowledge of statistical processes.
  • Detailed-oriented with effective oral, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organizing skills.
  • Solution-focused with an emphasis on preventative, proactive measures and team-building.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional groups.
