Compliance Manager

About the Role

The Compliance Manager oversees all property compliance for LIHTC, HUD, LURA, and bond regulations, including new property setup in Yardi and staff training on Yardi data entry and compliance. This role works closely with Property and Regional Managers, as well as corporate staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance reports and communicate deadlines and requirements to property managers and corporate staff.
• Audit compliance with LIHTC, Section 8, and LURAs, ensuring all annual reporting meets tax exemption regulations.
• Meet reporting requirements for external entities such as TDHCA, HOME, and MDSI.
• Monitor and audit the accuracy of resident certification files and Yardi data, providing feedback and additional training to property managers on errors found.
• Monitor monthly HAP billing and cash posting, assisting HAP properties with Yardi monthly processes and certifications.
• Provide training and assistance to property managers on Yardi software functions and problem resolution for LIHTC properties.
• Set up new LIHTC properties in Yardi and assist in training new staff on tax credit functions.
• Respond promptly to all help desk tickets.
• Maintain good communications with external compliance auditors to resolve issues quickly and accurately.

Requirements

• At least 3 years’ experience as a property manager or assistant manager.
• Excellent understanding of Yardi processes and problem-solving skills.
• Degree required.
• Proficient with Excel and Yardi.
