Position Summary
UTHealth Houston is seeking a Compliance Coordinator to respond to compliance reports, investigations, concerns, and inquiries. This role supports the university's Institutional Compliance program to ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and university policies. Key responsibilities include supporting the prevention, detection, and correction of noncompliance, promoting compliance activities, and preparing reports.
Position Key Accountabilities
- Develops, tracks, and coordinates mandatory compliance training programs.
- Creates, organizes, and maintains up-to-date records and documentation of compliance activities.
- Intakes, investigates, and reports on allegations of noncompliance.
- Stays informed about changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Maintains compliance-related databases and files; ensures accuracy, privacy, and data integrity.
- Collaborates with internal teams and external regulatory bodies.
- Tracks and analyzes compliance metrics and prepares reports.
- Provides assistance to UTHealth employees about the UTHealth Institutional Compliance program.
- Supports developing and delivering compliance communication materials.
- Participates in compliance-related projects and initiatives.
Certification/Skills
- Effective communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong administrative skills, productive typing speed, and capability with electronic systems.
- Keen eye for accuracy.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor's Degree Required.
- JD Degree Preferred.
Minimum Experience
- Three (3) years of related experience in compliance, legal, or audit; OR No experience with an Advanced degree, preferably a JD.
Physical Requirements
- Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

- This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code 51.215.
Residency Requirement
- Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
