About the role
Assists with daily responsibilities within the Athletic Compliance Department. Supports FIU's system-wide compliance program and is instrumental in promoting a culture of ethical behavior and helps to ensure compliance with applicable policies, laws, and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Supports the compliance program and promotes a culture of ethical behavior.
- Supports the research, preparation, and submission of NCAA and Conference forms, reports, and questionnaires.
- Works closely with the Student Athletic Academic Coordinators and Registrar to determine initial and continuing eligibility.
- Uses the Compliance Assistant database and Teamworks Software to prepare squad and eligibility lists.
- Uses the Compliance Software to monitor playing and practice seasons, recruiting, amateurism, and awards and benefits legislation.
- Assists in the investigation and reporting of NCAA infractions, submission of legislative relief waivers, and in the administration of the annual coaches' off-campus recruiting certification.
- Aids in the management of revenue sharing; proficient with the CAPS platform.
- Manages the approval process of all athletic department-related camps and clinics.
- Maintains monitoring of all recruiting systems, including phone logs, contact evaluation forms, etc.
- Conducts in-person/virtual compliance education sessions with student-athletes, staff, new employees, and selected external constituencies as directed by the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience working within an intercollegiate athletics compliance program or other athletic related programs.
- Experience working in Higher Education.
