Compliance Coordinator
Job Summary
This position is responsible for supporting the Manager, Corporate Compliance; Director, Legal Operations; and the General Counsel in managing corporate compliance activities and operations to ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws which govern the business activities of Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi and its subsidiaries (Company).
Responsibilities
- Support in developing and maintaining corporate compliance policies, procedures and documentation.
- Proactively monitor compliance activities which govern the Company’s business.
- Provide and document training.
- Support the Manager, Corporate Compliance in oversight activities.
- Ongoing administration of the corporate HIPAA Privacy Program and the Privacy Office.
- Managing the Blueway Code of Conduct and Compliance Hotline and Other Compliance Reporting.
- Administering the Ethidex Compliance Office Software.
- Conducting OFAC/Exclusion list monitoring.
- Conducting compliance reviews to ensure Group and Member compliance with Company requirements.
- Supporting vendor contracting compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s (or higher) degree.
- Minimum of 3 years work experience, health care related or compliance experience preferred, with prior experience in a similar compliance role preferred and a strong preference for experience with HIPAA Privacy Rules.
- Excellent research, organizational and oral/written communication skills required, with the ability to present information in a clear, concise manner to a variety of personnel levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Able to handle information and projects of a confidential nature.
- Able to handle people and complex situations in a professional manner.
- Able to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously without compromising quality.
