Compliance and Data Analyst (DOH/NMBHI #12710)

About the role

The Compliance & Data Analyst coordinates quality and performance management, as well as incident management functions within the Standards & Compliance division. Responsibilities include compliance assessments, performance reports, prevention activities, policy review and development, database management, training, and tracking corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation regulatory requirements.

This role supports the facility-wide quality, safety, and regulatory readiness by managing data systems, monitoring key performance indicators, and evaluating adherence to regulatory requirements. The position provides analytical support for incident review, root cause analysis, mock surveys, and policy reviews while collaborating with clinical, administrative, and operational teams. The role requires strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the facility Incident Management system, including training on proper incident response, notification, and documentation, incident report collection, review, and database entry for follow-up action.
• Facilitate compliance with state licensing, certification, accreditation, and other external surveys.
• Coordinate performance management activities, conduct compliance assessments, and track corrective actions.
• Manage data systems and monitor key performance indicators to evaluate adherence to federal, state, and accreditation requirements.
• Provide analytical support for incident review, root cause analysis, mock surveys, and policy reviews.
• Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and operational teams to sustain continuous improvement and survey readiness.
• Participate in facility committees and prepare performance and compliance reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of experience in investigations, regulation, policy, statutory, and/or contract compliance.
• Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid NM Driver’s License.
• Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate.

Skills

• Skilled in data analysis, database management, spreadsheets, and performance-tracking tools.
• Knowledge of corrective action planning, root cause analysis, and incident reporting processes.
• Experience conducting chart audits, program assessments, tracers, and mock surveys.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report development and presentation.
• Ability to interpret regulations, policies, and standards to support compliance and continuous improvement.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and various data sets.

Working Conditions

• Primarily office-based with extensive computer and phone usage, including exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminals.
• Lifting up to thirty (30) pounds may be required.
• Position is located at Standards & Compliance, Yucca building.

Pay

$27.37 - $41.06 hourly ($56,931 - $85,396 annually). This position is classified as Pay Band C7.
