Responsibilities

• Receive extensive training to learn the process to legally establish paternity and child support orders and/or enforce orders by collecting child support and enforcing other provisions within the order.
• Verify and/or correct balances which may be owed, determine appropriate legal action including garnishment, lien, etc.
• Prepare documentation in support of cases presented in court hearings.
• Conduct research to gather evidence, analyze facts, and apply knowledge of the Office of Recovery Services rules, regulations, and policies.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in a technologically driven environment with intermediate to advanced computer skills.
• Exceptional ability to multi-task and quickly make decisions.
• Strong customer service and communication skills with an ability to assist people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism without prejudice or bias.
• Ability to effectively contact individuals or organizations to secure delinquent payments, and/or make payment arrangements for money owed.
• Effectively interpret, clarify, explain and apply agency policy and procedures, business practices, federal or state laws and regulations.

Preferred or Trainable On The Job Qualifications

• Proficiency with spreadsheets and word processing.
• Strong communication skills.
• Takes direction as well as initiative.
• Familiar with medical insurance practices.
