About the role

The Executive Meeting Manager leverages organizational and detailing skills to identify and implement profitable execution of all groups. This role ensures each assigned group meets or exceeds revenue expectations based on contracts, while actively contributing to a high-performance culture within the Convention Services Department through customer advocacy, sustained revenue achievement, communication, and team participation.

Responsibilities

• Understand and contribute to monthly forecasting and the annual budget process.
• Raise meeting planner evaluation scores by implementing methods to exceed meeting planner satisfaction.
• Optimize room rental charges.
• Consistently re-book repeat business by maintaining long-term client relationships.
• Actively participate in industry-related organizations (e.g., NACE, MPI).
• Apply strong sales techniques, including closing and negotiating skills.
• Conduct hotel site inspections and client presentations.
• Provide creative and innovative set-ups, menus, and functions for groups in collaboration with the Chef on pricing specialty menus.
• Work closely with the banquet department on operations and event execution.
• Quickly evaluate alternatives and decide on action plans.
• Provide direction, coordination, and ongoing evaluation of operations.
• Execute detailed banquet event orders generated by the Convention Services Department.
• Manage Audio/Visual equipment as a profit center.
• Use computers proficiently, specifically Delphi, Word, and Excel.
• Monitor group room blocks and pick-up, generating detailed resumes for operating departments.
• Collaborate with outside vendors to ensure client satisfaction for all events/groups.
• Comply with attendance rules and perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Prior experience in hospitality with specific experience in catering sales.
• 1+ year in the hospitality industry required.
• Experience at a similar size and quality hotel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi.
• Knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, training, and motivation of peers.
• Familiarity with hotel features, benefits, and competing hotels within the market.
• Ability to execute appropriate action plans.
• Knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing plans, security, safety programs, personnel and labor relations, business plans, repairs, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance, hospitality law, and long-range planning.
• Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style to different audiences.
