About the Role
This position supports a variety of HR functions with an emphasis on compensation and benefits. The role involves developing and analyzing workforce metrics to produce business solutions and champion a data-driven HR culture focused on improvement and automation.
Responsibilities
- Administer a wide range of HR support for assigned functions, including compensation administration, HR analytics, and benefits.
- Lead company market pricing, perform equity analysis, and make recommendations on pay ranges.
- Perform complex analysis, review utilization and experience data, and identify trends to evaluate program effectiveness; make timely and actionable recommendations for change.
- Review existing salary structure and propose modifications to ensure sound salary administration linking salary to performance.
- Research new hire offers to ensure recruitment team aligns salaries with internal pay strategy.
- Audit pay practices to ensure compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws and internal pay policies.
- Develop job descriptions, conduct job analyses, and perform exemption classification testing.
- Conduct internal and external job evaluations to determine relative importance of jobs and assign suitable band levels.
- Create new positions as needed and provide appropriate market salary benchmarks.
- Oversee annual compensation practices, including market pay adjustments, merit pay, and short-term incentive pay (STIP) plans; ensure internal equity.
- Prepare annual compensation and benefits plans budgets, determine personnel costs, and propose budget adjustments.
- Conduct employee onboarding and new hire orientation.
- Resolve employee inquiries and complaints regarding compensation and benefits; escalate complex concerns.
- Prepare reports and presentations on compensation and benefits; create communication materials and deliver presentations to the organization, including executives.
- Develop HR solutions by collecting and analyzing information and recommending courses of action.
- Review and track employee metrics such as turnover, complaints, and discipline.
- Perform administrative duties, including document review and filing.
- Support the Senior HR Manager in preparing and maintaining documents for immigration sponsorship requests.
- Act as a liaison between employees and external immigration attorneys on immigration-related matters.
- Perform audits of immigration files and new hire data entries.
- Serve as a backup to the Benefits Specialist.
- Create, update, and maintain policy and procedure manuals.
- Stay abreast of applicable U.S. laws, updates, and trends.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Two (2) years of current work experience in HR with an emphasis on compensation in a corporate environment, including job evaluation, compensation analysis, and oversight of variable pay plans.
- Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business, or a related field. In lieu of a degree, four (4) years of relevant HR experience or a combination of education and experience is acceptable.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to partner with stakeholders at all levels to drive HR and business initiatives.
- Proven analytical skills; ability to analyze statistical and financial data and provide data-driven recommendations.
- Experience with process improvement and/or business analysis to provide business solutions.
- Utmost professional discretion and ability to work with confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills (e.g., if statements, nested formulas, vlookups, countif, pivot tables).
- Working knowledge of employment laws, wage and hour regulations, and compensation principles.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and strong in project management.
- Exceptional time management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English, with the ability to engage and influence.
- Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and implement recommendations.
- Ability to work extended hours, holidays, and/or weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current SHRM Certification (PHR, SPHR, or GPHR).
- Strong vendor management experience.
- Data analytics and data modeling experience.
- Prior strategic-level work experience.
- Experience using market pricing tools, such as MarketPay.
- Experience developing metrics and dashboards to support business goals.
- Experience working with immigration processes for employees.
