Job Summary
The Compensation Specialist collaborates with internal business stakeholders and human resources leadership in personnel-related planning and decision-making, including the analysis and review of job classification and reclassification requests; implements quality controls in the job classification process for existing and newly created positions, and evaluates job as appropriate; provides professional guidance, advice, coordination, training, and support in the effective and consistent application of compensation programs, management principles, guidelines, procedures, and best practices.
Essential Jobs And Responsibilities
- Aids in the planning, development, coordination, facilitation, administration, and reporting of the annual salary review program for employees and in the implementation of compensation programs and policies.
- Aids with creating compensation programs that establish pay grades and criteria for raises.
- Aids with creating the development of compensation related policies.
- Edits employees and managers about compensation policies, procedures, and philosophy.
- Aids in setting and adjusting pay and benefits structures to ensure they are competitive and compliant with regulations.
- Generates reports and provides insights on compensation trends, costs, and effectiveness.
- Researches market trends to evaluate the competitiveness of salaries; assists with establishing the job grading and process for the creation of new roles into our grading structure.
- Reviews, evaluates and revises compensation programs regularly.
- Conducts surveys to assess employee satisfaction with pay and benefits.
- Pairs with both the Talent Acquisition Team and hiring leaders as needed about matters related to pay and reviewing special compensation scenarios.
- Compiles and audits annual performance incentive calculations for annual pay-out.
- Aids with Talent Acquisition to Align compensation programs with recruitment strategies to attract quality candidates.
- Complies with federal, state and local compensation laws, such as minimum wage regulations.
- Assists with analyzing appropriate surveys for benchmarking compensation and benefits programs.
- Works with Finance to forecast benefits and compensation costs.
- Maintains regular and on-time attendance.
- Fulfills all safety regulations.
- Supports client’s commitment to its culture and values, including Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence (RISE).
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice President, Human Resources and Senior Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in business, human resources or related field.
- Experience: 2-4 years of related experience.
