About the role
The Compensation Specialist will support compensation cycle processes, market benchmarking, and salary structure management. They will ensure accurate data reporting, audit, and compliance while serving as a trusted advisor to HR partners on compensation policies and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of annual compensation cycles, including pay review materials and training programs.
- Administer salary increase processes, ensuring smooth execution and alignment with compensation guidelines.
- Conduct annual compensation planning and benchmarking surveys, analyzing market trends to maintain competitive pay structures.
- Oversee job matching methodology and provide guidance on market reference jobs.
- Regularly review and maintain salary structures to ensure consistency and market competitiveness.
- Perform job catalog audits and implement refinements where necessary.
- Conduct compensation audits and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Support reporting efforts, including general and ad hoc compensation analyses.
- Provide guidance to HR partners with compensation guidelines and best practices.
- Aid in the development of training materials and educational resources to enhance compensation understanding across the organization.
Requirements
- Typically, Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Over three (3) years of experience in compensation analysis, benchmarking, and program administration.
- Strong understanding of job evaluation, salary benchmarking methodologies, and compliance practices.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems, compensation survey tools, and data reporting platforms.
- Ability to collaborate and provide advisory support to HR professionals.
- Must live local to the Buffalo, NY area to work onsite.
