The Compensation Specialist assists HR leadership in planning, developing, and implementing new and revised compensation programs and policies/procedures to align with the organization’s goals and competitive practices.

Responsibilities

  • Assists leadership in conducting detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis on the organization’s compensation practice.
  • Assists in the administration of compensation plans in compliance with internal policies and government regulations.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with all levels of management.
  • Applies understanding of the business environment, industry strategies, organizational structures, and compensation practices to effectively conduct compensation tasks.
  • Assists in the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs with a focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, and pay equity.
  • Collects data to participate in salary surveys and monitors salary survey data to ensure corporate compensation objectives are achieved.
  • Reviews existing compensation practices and provides HR leadership with data to make cost-effective, trend-aligned, and strategically sound recommendations.
  • Provides analytical, technical, and operational support to the HR team by leveraging data from various sources.
  • Maintains data integrity and audits compensation-related data to ensure usability and reliability.
  • Assists HR leadership in designing creative solutions for compensation-related programs and incentive plans.
  • Develops techniques for compiling, preparing, and presenting data.
  • Collaborates with the recruiting team on compensation and recruiting-related tasks.
  • Regularly reviews compliance updates for all compensation-related activities, including state and federal laws governing compensation, incentive programs, bonus plans, and job description requirements.
  • Ensures all compensation practices are compliant, efficient, and effective in supporting the organization’s strategic goals.
  • Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (required).
  • 1+ years of experience in Human Resources, specifically in Compensation, or equivalent education.
  • Financial industry experience (a plus).
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification (preferred; must be obtained within 2 years).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Pay

Estimated salary for this role is $31.93 to $38.32 per hour. Additional compensation and benefits may be available beyond the listed salary or hourly rate.
