Compeer Volunteer (Adult Program)

About the role

Compeer is a dynamic, 50-year-old, community-based program that uses the power of human connection to help those living with mental illness and behavioral health challenges reach their full potential. Caring volunteers and staff help individuals identify and develop strengths, reducing isolation and feelings of loneliness, and shatter the stigma around mental health.

Responsibilities

• Spend four hours a month with an individual in our community who has a mental health challenge
• Provide guidance and support to individuals looking to improve their well-being as a supplement to mental health treatment
• Help people in our community who are isolated and lacking socialization through the power of 1:1 mentoring relationships

Qualifications

• Commitment to spending four hours per month with a Compeer Friend
• Willingness to be a friend and use the power of human connection
