Duties & Responsibilities
- Patrols campus on foot, bicycle or marked vehicle checking for fires, vandalism, suspicious activity or persons, and safety/fire hazards.
- Situations requiring additional assistance will be referred to police.
- Monitors camera footage for criminal activity and reports findings to police.
- Responds to emergency calls for service such as blue light phones, medical injuries and emergencies, minor theft reports, fires, and criminal damage.
- Completes police reports on minor incidents that do not involve felony investigations, including stolen property, found property, lost property, and criminal damage.
- Activity is driven by the occurrences during the designated shift. Any pertinent information will be shared via pass along briefing/email with other shifts.
- Greets, welcomes, and provides exceptional customer service to all.
- Provides directions and other general informational needs.
- Performs door assists and other security related escorts on campus.
- Affords assistance with special events. Locks and unlocks doors upon request and according to schedules provided by Room and Course.
- Maintains secure storage of evidence and found property per department policy.
- Performs safety inspections at designated intervals and submit work orders for repair/replacement as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent learning attained through experience required (GED).
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required.
Department Will Consider
- Any relevant volunteer, internship, or applicable experience as it relates towards the position.
Successfully Passes An In-Depth Background Investigation
- Passing a polygraph examination.
Must Be Able To Work Rotating Shifts, Weekends, And Holidays
- Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
