USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology, located in downtown Los Angeles, is a global leader in aging research and education. The Family Caregiver Support Center offers clinical services for family caregivers, including assessment, case management, short-term treatment, referral, crisis intervention, and psycho-educational training.

About the role

We seek a Community Engagement Coordinator to support outreach activities for the Family Caregiver Support Center. This full-time, hybrid position requires flexibility, strong organizational skills, and a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation. Travel may be required for on-campus meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with all aspects of the center’s outreach activities.
  • Administer the marketing calendar and coordinate program services and activities.
  • Schedule classes, meetings, and events; provide leadership to student workers and volunteers.
  • Arrange vendor services and ensure follow-through on assigned tasks.
  • Oversee production and distribution of program materials (agendas, reports, marketing content).
  • Conduct research to assess program effectiveness, evaluate client needs, and assist with budget preparation.
  • Perform preliminary data analysis, submit recommendations, and prepare reports.
  • Assist with budget preparation, track expenditures, and report variances.
  • Respond to client inquiries and provide program-related information.
  • Coordinate services with other campus offices and represent the program on university committees.
  • Support fundraising efforts by researching funding sources and assisting with proposal writing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent combination of experience/education.
  • Valid state driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse communities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual proficiency.
  • Working knowledge of marketing tools.
  • Experience with community outreach and presentations.
  • Experience working with diverse communities.

Skills

  • Strong organizational and attention to detail.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with community members and agencies.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and report preparation.

Schedule

Work schedule varies from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work as needed. Hybrid schedule.

Pay

The hourly rate range for this position is $29.86–$31.86. USC considers factors such as experience, education, skills, and market conditions when extending offers.
