The Franklin County Auditor’s Office is dedicated to serving the community by ensuring fairness and accuracy in weights and measures across the county. Our mission is to protect and empower consumers, ensuring they receive what they rightfully pay for at gas pumps and retail store scanners. As a trusted steward of county finances, we promote fiscal responsibility and innovative initiatives that benefit all residents.
We assess property values to determine fair property taxes and provide tax relief for seniors and citizens with disabilities. We also uphold state regulations by licensing dogs, recognizing the significance of responsible pet ownership. Responsibilities
- Engage in direct outreach through initiated and invited contact with local community groups, government entities, stakeholders, and individuals.
- Attend or present at community meetings or events on behalf of, or in conjunction with, the Auditor.
- Arrange recognition for citizens or groups supporting the office’s work.
- Create documentation related to community outreach activities.
- Coordinate the Franklin County Auditor’s Office presence at fairs, festivals, and other community events.
- Learn and review existing functions of the Auditor’s Office to develop effective education strategies supporting outreach and constituent casework.
- Support public-facing work of other departments through cross-training and assistance with events inside and outside the office.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience reflecting requisite knowledge and skills.
- One (1) or more years of related work and/or structured volunteer experience in community outreach, communications, organizing, or education/training.
- A combination of training, education, or experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Possess and maintain a valid Ohio driver’s license with an acceptable driving record; must comply with the FCAO Driving Policy.
