Community Manager

Cosy · Palo Alto, CA · 1 mo ago
Marketing$120k–$150k/yrFull-time

About the role

The Community Manager will own the health and growth of our creator community. They will define metrics, track them on a real-time dashboard, and answer for them company-wide. They will build direct relationships with our top creators, automate creator service end-to-end, recruit, train, and manage a moderator team, and act as the connective tissue between the community and our tech, product, and marketing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own the health and growth of our creator community — define metrics, track them on a real-time dashboard, and answer for them company-wide
  • Build direct relationships with our top creators: make them feel seen, get the most out of their work, and turn them into the center of gravity for everyone else
  • Automate creator service end-to-end — bug reporting, general knowledge, and escalation bots — so support scales past what a person can do by hand
  • Recruit, train, and manage our moderator team to a high bar of quality and 24/7 coverage
  • Ideate and run gamejams, AMA’s and ongoing challenges/competitions that seed and test new forms of content
  • Own the referral program and the creator payout system — strategy, infrastructure, and monitoring
  • Act as the connective tissue between the community and our tech, product, and marketing teams, so creator-facing comms reflect what creators actually care about
  • Use the product every day like the rest of us: play the games, build with the tools, ship things

Requirements

5–10+ years in community management for consumer or tech products, likely carrying a Senior CM, Community Lead, or Head of Community title today

  • Have run, optimized, and grown a community before — not just maintained one
  • Think in metrics and in simplicity: you’d rather consolidate five half-working systems into one good one than add a sixth
  • Deeply care about creators, with real empathy for what they’re trying to make
  • Stay positive and steady in chaos — your emotions never leak into how you communicate
  • Be hyper-organized and communicative, and always on top of it (either responding directly or routing mods to handle it)
  • Have genuine curiosity to use and create with the product, not just manage the channel around it
  • Be Bay Area based and able to work onsite in Palo Alto

Bonus points

  • Have managed and grown Discord servers at scale
  • Have run creator programs at creator/fan platforms (Whatnot, Sleeper, Fandom, Patreon, Substack)
  • Have built bots, automations, or internal tooling to make community ops scale

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary, meaningful equity, and performance bonus
  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and eligible dependents
  • Flexible PTO and unlimited sick time
  • $650/month AI Tools budget to use on the tools that help you do your best work
  • $500/month Lifestyle Benefit for wellness, fitness, meals, house cleaning, and more
  • $200/month Fun Benefit to spend on hobbies, travel, games, concerts, or whatever brings you joy
  • Up to 16 weeks paid parental leave for birth parents and 12 weeks for non-birth parents, plus a $1,500/month childcare benefit
  • $2,000 workspace setup allowance and $200/month commuter benefit
  • Daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner on in-office days, plus regular team events and offsites
  • 401(k) retirement plan through Human Interest
