Community Living Assistant- Part Time- 3rd Shift

About the role

The Community Living Assistant position at the Atlanta Mission is a critical role within our ministry. We serve over 1000 men, women, and children every day, providing essential services including food, shelter, clothing, counseling, and vocational and spiritual guidance. Our mission is to witness and experience radical life transformations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor client activity to maintain safety and compliance with house rules
  • Conduct room checks, package/purse inspections, and general observation to identify and remove contraband
  • Respond promptly to incidents, escalating safety or behavioral concerns as needed
  • Congratulations and guide clients through issues using de-escalation techniques
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of daily activities, incidents, and unusual events
  • Communicate client community living concerns, needs, and emergencies via Salesforce notes and email updates
  • Administer medication in alignment with program policy and accurately document client consumption
  • Build rapport with clients by maintaining a calm, compassionate, and professional presence

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to de-escalate conflicts and respond effectively to crises
  • Comfortable thriving in a fast-paced environment with frequent multitasking
  • High energy, with the ability to engage and motivate others toward a common goal
  • Strong communication skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write clear reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or team members
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to use Salesforce for documentation
  • Prior experience in residential or community living programs
  • Training or experience in trauma-informed care or working with vulnerable populations
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Physical requirements: Standing for long periods of time, moving and walking to various locations, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pulling, pushing, bending, twisting, operating a computer and other office equipment, communicating accurate information, lifting up to 20lbs, having peripheral vision and depth perception
  • Special job requirements: Available to work in case of an emergency
