About the Role

Forest View Hospital, located just seven miles southeast of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a private 108-bed psychiatric facility serving children, adolescents, and adults. Licensed by the State of Michigan and fully accredited by The Joint Commission, we bring over 45 years of experience to the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health problems.

The Community Liaison serves as the liaison between the facility, the community, and referring agencies. This role is responsible for creating demand for the facility’s services through ethical marketing principles and sales methods, presenting a positive and professional public image, and implementing the facility’s strategic sales plan to achieve business development goals.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and implement Sales Excellence and Service Recovery standards.
  • Act as liaison between the facility and referral sources, implementing service-oriented action plans and conducting facility tours for key stakeholders.
  • Attend and actively participate in Outpatient team meetings, providing marketing reports, updates, and Service Recovery opportunities.
  • Maintain documentation of assigned top accounts, key contacts, planning reports, client profiles, competitive profiles, and updates as required.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with existing referral sources and identify additional referral sources.
  • Maintain a daily average of 8-10 face-to-face contacts with assigned referral sources to discuss facility programs, treatment philosophies, and clinical outcomes.
  • Develop and communicate appropriate sales messaging for each program and target audience.
  • Create and implement a strategic sales plan for existing and potential referral sources within assigned territory and target markets.
  • Assess, develop, and implement sales activities to achieve maximum market penetration and identify potential accounts in targeted market segments.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and utilize this information to modify weekly sales action plans and provide recommendations for Outpatient planning strategies.
  • Facilitate positive, timely, and accurate communication among the facility, referral sources, patients, families, and the community.
  • Complete required reports (e.g., expense reports, sales call plans, post-call follow-up reports) in a timely manner.
  • Participate in off-hours sales and community activities as required.
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of the facility’s programs, services, assessment processes, and admission/exclusionary criteria.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the behavioral healthcare market in West Michigan and provide relevant strategic insights.
  • Contribute to the analysis of competitors in West Michigan, including programs, bed availability, SWOT analysis, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of target markets and the status of specific referral sources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field required. Experience may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis in lieu of a degree.
  • Prior marketing and/or sales experience within a behavioral healthcare setting preferred.
  • Three years minimum documented experience in referral development, account management, sales growth, and physician relationships preferred.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License.

Hours are based on departmental and facility needs and may include day, evening, and weekend hours.
