Community Initiatives Program Administrator

About the role

The City of San Marcos' Community Development Division is seeking a Community Initiatives Program Administrator to help administer CDBG and other HUD grants. This role plays an important part in advancing solutions related to homeownership and affordable housing.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the City's designated Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Administrator, providing full leadership and oversight of all program and compliance responsibilities, including designation as the CDBG Environmental Compliance Officer.
• Plans and administers additional housing and community development grants that advance the City's strategic community investment goals.
• Manages complex projects, contracts, and financial activities while leading community outreach efforts to ensure programs effectively meet resident and stakeholder needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in urban planning, public administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in community development, housing, or related field.
• Experience with HUD grants and regulations.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of federal and state housing laws and regulations.
