ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Consults with Program Managers and Team Leaders to work on planning and organizing community activities
• Develops a weekly/monthly calendar of activities/community integration opportunities and communicates with necessary parties of all scheduled activities
• Provides guidance to individuals in Community Living Programs in the areas of activities of daily living/personal care (example-hygiene, dietary compliance), community integration (example-outings) and economic self-sufficiency skills (example-accurate handling of financial transactions)
• Provides transportation for individuals to various activities through the use of an agency
• Ensures adequate funds are available for staff and individuals for all activities
• Follow and maintain all safety procedures
• Complete all required documentation

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Experience working in a residential setting with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write routine reports and simple correspondence
• Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to residents and other employees of the organization
• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
• Ability to compute percentages
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
• Must have a valid driver's license and valid auto insurance

• Ability to develop effective and efficient communication skills through instruction and training
• To adapt favorably to changing program needs and have genuine interest in the welfare of clients
• To develop knowledge of behavior principles through instruction and training
• To learn basic computer operations for client data tracking, incident reporting and other processes deemed necessary by the supervisory staff
• To qualify to become authorized in administering participant medications preferred by not required
