About the role

The Direct Care Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of a Residential Community Living home in the Canonsburg/Cecil area of Pittsburgh, PA. This role involves managing staff, ensuring quality care for individuals with special needs, and assisting with caregiving duties as needed. The goal is to improve residents' quality of life by helping them live as independently as possible.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of community home staff, including scheduling, training, and performance reviews
• Oversight of care provided to individuals with special needs
• Assist with caregiving duties as needed
• Documentation such as fire drills, client progress notes, and medication administration

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Three (3) years of experience in a human service, direct care, caregiver, TSS, Home Health Aide, C.N.A., DSP, or related position
• Current driver’s license
• Obtain Medication Administration Certification within 6 months of hire
• First Aid/CPR certified within 6 months of hire
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or move up to 200 lbs. with assistance

Qualifications (Preferred)

• Associate Degree or equivalent credits (60) and 2 years of experience in a human service or caregiving field
• Bachelor’s Degree and 1 year of experience in a human service, social service, or related field
• Degrees in Education, Special Education, Counseling, Therapy, Psychology, Sociology, Social Services, Transition Programming, Nursing, Health Administration, or similar fields

Schedule

• Full-time, 40 hours per week
• Primarily Daylight shift: 7 am to 3 pm
• On-call duties required
