Nature of Work

Under the supervision of the Healthy Start Program Supervisor, provide education and case management through home visits, face-to-face contacts and telephone calls to high-risk pregnant women, postpartum women, and children up to the age of two years. Provide outreach to private individuals, health care providers, community groups, and organizations to educate about services and available resources, and to obtain Healthy Start referrals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field from an accredited college or university.

  • Experience: Maternal Child Health and/or home visiting experience preferred.

  • Licenses or Certifications: Current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland Board of Nursing.

  • Notes: A bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and one year of experience as a registered nurse may be substituted for the required education. Two years of experience as a registered nurse may be substituted for the required education.

Desired or Preferred Qualifications

  • Spanish-speaking is desired but not required.
