Community Fitness Personal Trainer (Short-term)

Duties And Responsibilities

• One-on-one personal training and semi-private group fitness training
• Perform pre-scheduled and pre-paid Personal Training Sessions
• Provide services in pre-determined, designated fitness workout areas, outdoors, on the pool deck, in classrooms or virtually
• Teach and instruct participants through one-on-one demonstration and guidance in technique, critique, development, direction and supportive teaching, while assuring safety and preparation for potential emergencies in all areas including the pool
• Demonstrate and communicate proven effective safety measures to all participants and offer modification options
• Work in coordinated efforts (specific to communication and scheduling) with colleagues and front desk associates to assure pre-scheduled appointments for private fitness instruction (personal training and semi-private training) are completed

Job Requirements

• Personal Trainers will have a specific fitness exercise certification and/or the pre-determined certificate requirement of the specific exercise format requirements

Annual Security Report

The 2024 Annual Security Report (ASR), required by the Clery Act, includes statistics for the previous three years (2021-2023) concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings owned or controlled by SMCCCD; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from SMCCCD. The 2024 Annual Security Report also outlines various campus safety and security policies concerning crime reporting, prevention and response to sexual and gender violence, alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, emergency response and evacuation procedures, and other matters. The Annual Security Report also includes important tips to help every community member remain safe and avoid becoming a victim of crime. The 2024 Annual Security Report is now available on the Public Safety website. The report includes information about criminal activity on our campuses, emergency procedures, and resources.
