Community Event Volunteer

Duties

• Attending events, fundraisers, and check presentations on behalf of the Foundation
• Soliciting donations/participation/sponsorships from individuals and/or local businesses
• Speaking to individuals and groups about our mission and work
• Passing out marketing materials to participants
• Acquiring donations for auction items or in-kind gifts

Requirements

• Possess a passion and desire to help make a difference in the lives of breast cancer patients in need
• Willingness to learn our mission, statistics, and talking points
• Ability to communicate effectively amongst diverse populations or groups
• Ability to work independently in a professional and timely manner
• Reliability and ability to commit to attending events in advance
• Extroverted personality is a plus--will be interacting with event guests and sponsors

Other Things to Note

This role is intended to be ongoing and will require travel within the Triad area. Time commitment may vary based on the number of events being held (i.e., there may be some weeks where there are no volunteer opportunities, and some weeks where there are multiple places we will need you in one week!). Volunteer will need occasional night and weekend availability.
