About the role

Community Educators are volunteer public speakers who provide Alzheimer's Association education programs to community audiences on a variety of care and support topics.

Responsibilities

  • Provide education programs on Alzheimer's disease and related dementias to community groups
  • Present at various venues including libraries, senior centers, and community events
  • Prepare and deliver presentations that are engaging and informative
  • Engage with attendees to answer questions and provide resources

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years old or older
  • Must have a background check completed
  • Must attend an orientation session
  • Must be able to commit to a few hours per month, recurring
  • Must be available weekdays (daytime, evenings) and weekends (daytime, evenings)

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias
  • Ability to engage and educate diverse audiences
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new educational materials
