About the role
Community Educators are volunteer public speakers who provide Alzheimer's Association education programs to community audiences on a variety of care and support topics.
Responsibilities
- Provide education programs on Alzheimer's disease and related dementias to community groups
- Present at various venues including libraries, senior centers, and community events
- Prepare and deliver presentations that are engaging and informative
- Engage with attendees to answer questions and provide resources
Requirements
- Must be 21 years old or older
- Must have a background check completed
- Must attend an orientation session
- Must be able to commit to a few hours per month, recurring
- Must be available weekdays (daytime, evenings) and weekends (daytime, evenings)
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias
- Ability to engage and educate diverse audiences
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new educational materials
