Community Direct Support Professional (DSP)

About the role

Join Upstate Caring Partners as a Community Direct Support Professional (DSP) and help individuals with disabilities live their best lives at home and in the community. We offer flexible, full-time or part-time opportunities without mandatory overtime.

Responsibilities

• Follow each person’s support plan to help them work toward their personal goals
• Help with everyday tasks like personal care, meals, and daily routines when needed
• Ensure the people we support are safe, healthy, and comfortable at all times
• Drive and go along with individuals to appointments, activities, and outings in the community
• Be a positive role model and speak up for the people you support when needed
• Help with light cleaning and household tasks to keep the home running smoothly
• Take part in team meetings, trainings, and agency events
• Write brief notes about your shift so the next staff and supervisors know how things went

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or equivalent
• A valid NYS Driver’s License
• A reliable, responsible, and comfortable making independent decisions
• A positive attitude and desire to support others
