Community Dentist
Part-time role (up to 32 hours per week) with flexible days and hours, open to job-sharing arrangements.
About Us
Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga (TToH) is one of New Zealand’s largest kaupapa Māori health and social services organisations. Based at our large site in Orchard Road, Hastings for over 40 years, we have provided a wide range of health and social services to our community from pēpē to kaumatua.
About Our Dental Service
Oranga Niho is our Cornerstone Accredited Dental service that delivers quality, evidence-based services to our 1,500 enrolled patients. We operate a mixed model with a focus on high-needs funded care. We work to improve the health of our community and are committed to improving equity and access to dental care in our local population, particularly for Māori and Pacific communities.
Responsibilities
- Provide Relief of Pain (ROP) treatment
- Deliver Rangatahi services
- Support Hapū Māmā and private patients in need of affordable dentistry services
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Dentistry
- Current Practicing Certificate
- Radiation License
- Knowledge of health and social issues and barriers affecting Māori health and well-being
- Willingness and competency to treat a diverse range of whānau
- Proven experience working effectively with the community
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of Te Ao Māori and Te Reo Māori, or a willingness to learn
- Full, current New Zealand driver’s licence
