About the role

The Community Banker Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Community Bankers, ensuring excellent service is provided to clients. This role supervises, trains, and develops Community Bankers while supporting the Assistant or Branch Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate operational duties and daily functions for Community Bankers; assist with complex transactions and provide solutions.
  • Lead new hire training and conduct ongoing needs analysis for future development and training.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of operational procedures, educate staff, and ensure consistent adherence to protocols.
  • Approve unusual or large-dollar transactions.
  • Provide reliable and timely service to clients in compliance with regulatory and compliance protocols, including guidance on financial products and services.
  • Maintain proper levels of coin and currency in the vault; educate and train staff on vault procedures.
  • Monitor teller cash reconcilement, verify employee teller balances, determine adjustments, and maintain records of variances and proof errors.
  • Ensure all transactions are properly documented and recorded; verify document authenticity and follow security procedures, including robbery protocols and customer confidentiality.
  • Process additional transactions such as issuing cashier’s checks, traveler’s checks, certified checks, redeeming EE Bonds, money orders, stop payment orders, and change orders; handle night drop and mail deposits.
  • Balance the ATM machine and maintain proper currency levels.
  • Balance the coin machine.
  • Promote and cross-sell products and services to retail customers; refer customers to appropriate areas for additional information.
  • Complete timely branch audits and prepare reports for Retail Leadership.
  • Create and maintain staff schedules to ensure sufficient coverage.
  • Hire, develop, motivate, and train staff; plan and delegate work assignments and projects.
  • Evaluate performance, conduct quarterly touch points, and deliver performance evaluations.
  • Establish clear expectations and hold team members accountable for performance and culture-aligned behaviors.
  • Administer compensation based on a pay-for-performance philosophy, including merit increases and variable pay.
  • Comply with all company, regulatory, and procedural requirements applicable to the role.
  • Participate in community engagement events, including professional, civic, and community groups.
  • Foster and preserve a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support the company’s mission and vision.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years’ experience in banking, client service, or a related field with cash handling experience.
  • One year of supervisory experience or previous leadership experience.
  • Strong ability to set clear expectations and hold team members accountable for performance and behavior aligned with company culture.
  • Proficiency in data entry using banking software and Microsoft 365 products, with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong decision-making, critical thinking, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously in a demanding environment.

Working Conditions

  • Duties performed in a professional office environment.
  • Requires travel to other branch or client locations.
  • Availability to work on Saturdays.
  • Extended periods of standing and ability to lift fifty pounds.

Pay

The minimum hourly wage for this position is $22.00 per hour. The actual wage will be based on qualifications and business needs, as permitted by applicable state law.
