Communications Specialist, Global Strategic Company Communications

About the role
The Global Strategic Company Communications team at 2K oversees all company-related communications across 2K’s Publishing and Studio organizations, including Business Communications, Internal Communications, Executive Communications + Thought Leadership, People + HR-related Communications, internal Change Management, Crisis & Issues Management, Social Impact, and Global Content creation. The Communications Specialist will support all communications with a focus on People + HR-related internal communications to employees across 2K Publishing and Studios, Change Management, Shared Development Studio and Technology team communications, and Strategic Operations.
Responsibilities
- People + HR Related Comms
- Draft communications plans and messaging supporting:
- People/HR Communications Initiatives (policy updates, annual performance review process, annual 2K Engagement Survey, RTO + Better Together Initiative updates)
- Regular internal people-focused communications (2K Publishing All Hands, Business Unit Town Halls, “The Download” monthly global employee newsletter, “The Byte” monthly office posters, digital displays content)
- Employee speaking engagement requests, community & engagement-related cultural moments, and support of all Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
- Manage monthly content creation, approval routing, and building of The Download in Staffbase and The Byte in Google Slides.
- Support external press and editorial opportunities in partnership with Comms Manager and PR agency partner.
- Partner with HRBPs to support the Global Comms Employee Onboarding program, helping new hires understand the communications team, tools, processes, and information access.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, simplification, and enhancing culture, belonging, and well-being across the comms team and partners.
- Manage the People Comms Intake Request Form.
- Provide internal comms support to HRBPs on key global events (e.g., 20th Anniversary), tools (e.g., email alias + Slack channel nomenclature, new rewards and recognition program rollout), and data captures (e.g., new hires, promotions, anniversaries).
- Draft communications plans and messaging supporting:
- Global Communications Content, Channels + Coordination
- Manage the Company Comms Inbox and distribution lists in partnership with Operations.
- Coordinate the Communications Calendar and weekly Comms team meetings.
- Coordinate internal comms tactics and timing to support game launches in partnership with PR.
- Partner with Comms Manager, Global HRBPs, Office Leads, and Managers worldwide to ensure global alignment and representation in The Download, All Hands, “Cool People Doing Cool Things,” and “Team Spotlight.”
- Support 2K Publishing Website Comms, partnering with the web design team in Dublin on new web design migration and acting as Comms liaison for all 2K web updates (including the 2K Foundations microsite).
- Maintain and update global comms files, templates, and materials across the Digital Workplace and Shared Google Drives.
- Strategic Operations
- Support project coordination of company-wide initiatives, ensuring alignment across stakeholders, managing logistics, tracking deliverables, and assisting with event coordination.
- Contribute to presentation decks, talking points, and event materials for company-wide events and milestones.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to drive engagement and reflect company and team priorities.
- Assist with agendas and follow-ups for leadership and studio meetings, capture meeting notes, summarize key takeaways, and track action items.
- Organize planning documents, dashboards, and progress trackers for operational visibility.
- Build positive working relationships across teams to facilitate communication and knowledge-sharing.
- Support coordination between leadership, studios, and functional partners to ensure alignment on goals and priorities.
- Assist with Strategic Communications and Operations team processes, documentation, and shared tools.
- Contribute to planning and execution of team-wide initiatives, workshops, and learning sessions.
- Identify opportunities to streamline communication or improve efficiency of recurring processes.

Qualifications

Pay
The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $65,700 and $97,260 per year. Base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. The total compensation package may also include bonus and/or equity awards, as well as medical, financial, and other benefits. Temporary or intern roles will not be eligible for many of these payments or benefits.
