Strategic Communications Specialist

LMD is seeking a Strategic Communications Specialist to support communications initiatives for a federal client. This position will work as part of an integrated communications team to develop and execute strategic communications that engage diverse stakeholder audiences and support high-visibility programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and communicator who can translate complex information into clear, audience-focused content, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with clients and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of strategic communications plans, campaigns, and initiatives.
- Draft and edit communications materials for a variety of audiences and channels, including web, social media, presentations, talking points, fact sheets, and other public-facing content.
- Support communications associated with program and product launches, stakeholder engagement activities, campaigns, and events.
- Coordinate with client stakeholders and project team members to ensure communications are accurate, timely, and aligned with strategic objectives.
- Support the management and updating of digital and web content.
- Track communications activities, milestones, and deliverables and contribute to regular client reporting.
- Assist with stakeholder outreach and engagement activities.
- Manage multiple communications assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced federal environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience, including experience:
- Supporting the planning and development of strategic communications or public relations campaigns.
- Developing communications materials for multiple audiences and channels.
- Working collaboratively with clients and project teams.
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to translate complex information into clear, accessible communications.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience supporting federal government communications is preferred.
- Experience with web content management systems is preferred.
- Must currently hold, or be able to obtain, the required federal suitability/fitness determination.
Job Location
This position is hybrid and may require on-site work in the Arlington, VA Area.

Pay
The pay range for this role is 60,000 - 80,000 USD per year (Arlington).
