Communications Representative - Communication Center - PRN - 3rd Shift
About the role
Answers telephones, greeting all callers in a professional manner. Facilitates referrals to area physicians, hospitals, and community services. Dispatches requests and information to the appropriate persons. Dispatches emergency codes using the Aionex Focus system. Initiates offline procedures when necessary. Maintains equipment, activity logs, and checklists.
Responsibilities
- Answers multiple incoming telephone lines to the hospital switchboard.
- Obtains necessary information and transfers calls to correct department or patient room extension.
- Provides information to callers as appropriate.
Qualifications
- High School/GED required.
- Previous experience in customer service, receptionist, or a dispatch role preferred.
- Keyboard/PC/Windows skills.
- Typing speed of 25 WPM.
- Automated telephone equipment operation skills desired.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Familiarity with medical terminology desired.
