Job Responsibilities

  • Build and manage the organization’s thought leadership program, including executive communications for the CEO and strategies to expand speaking opportunities for senior leaders
  • Develop and manage the organization’s awards strategy and calendar, including recommendations for prioritization and budget allocation
  • Develop and manage the organization’s global speaking strategy and calendar, identifying high-impact opportunities across sectors that expand CCDH’s visibility and influence
  • Manage and write speaker proposals, award nominations, and related submissions for the CEO and senior leaders
  • Partner with the CEO and senior leaders to develop speeches, remarks, talking points, and other executive communications
  • Write and place op-eds, with a focus on reaching new audiences and shaping mainstream conversations
  • Support the broader team’s media outreach and management in high-profile moments when necessary
  • Coach staff and senior leaders on public speaking, messaging, and presentation for external engagements

Person Specification

  • 5–7+ years of experience in executive communications and thought leadership, with a genuine passion for the field and a demonstrated commitment to securing high-profile speaking, media, and thought leadership opportunities for senior leaders
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to draft high-quality first-person content that authentically reflects the voice, tone, and communication style of different senior leaders. Experience securing and pitching external opportunities, including speaking engagements, op-eds, awards, and podcasts
  • Comfortable working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including colleagues across teams, board members, funders, and program leaders, to identify, develop, and amplify thought leadership opportunities

Desirable

  • Agency experience is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with the technology policy, digital rights, public interest, nonprofit, or philanthropic landscapes
  • Experience working across international markets, with an understanding of how speaking opportunities, media, and thought leadership differ across regions
  • Background in rapid-response or campaign environments, where timing and relevance are critical
