Communications & Development Manager

About the role

The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of the organization’s communications strategy, including press releases, media relations, and public speaking engagements. They will also oversee the development and implementation of fundraising campaigns and donor stewardship programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive communications strategies that align with organizational goals
• Manage media relations, including pitching stories to journalists and responding to inquiries
• Coordinate public speaking engagements and media appearances
• Oversee the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns
• Steward donors through personalized communication and recognition programs
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in communications or related field
• Proven track record in managing and executing successful communications campaigns
• Strong writing and editing skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Qualifications

• Experience in nonprofit or non-governmental organizations preferred
• Knowledge of social media and digital marketing tools
• Understanding of donor management systems
